Plaaslike Raadslid (Wyk 2 – Barrydale) afgedank na dissiplinêre proses

BARRYDALE – Wes-Kaap MEC vir plaaslike regering, MEC Anton Bredell, het op 6 Mei 2019 Raadsheer John Nortjé afgedank. Wyk twee (Barrydale) is dus tans vakant en dit is aan die Onafhanklike Verkiesingskomitee (OVK) gerapporteer vir kennisname. Die tussenverkiesingsdatum sal binne 90 dae van die aankondiging moet plaasvind en die OVK sal die datum aankondig.

SAPD Swellendam, in die Wes-Kaap en ook landswyd het ‘n algehele moratorium geplaas op misdaadverslaggewing en -statistieke. Die Langeberg Bulletin vra u hulp – met geen daadwerklike misdaadverslae vir ons distrik nie, laat dit die wanvoorstelling dat misdaad in die Swellendam area onder beheer is, of selfs dat geen misdaad in ons gemeenskappe plaasvind nie.

After careful consideration the Municipality of Swellendam has decided to withhold the use of glyphosate-based herbicides in Barrydale for a period of one year, with immediate effect. This applies to municipal officials in the exercise of their official duties, and does not impact on what private individuals do.
